We admit a first-year class representing a broad range of interests, viewpoints, talents and backgrounds. Pomona is need-blind for U.S. citizens, permanent residents, eligible non-citizens (such as refugees) and undocumented students who graduate from a high school in the United States.

Transfer Admissions

We admit transfer students as sophomores or juniors, and welcome applicants who have attended community colleges, public and international universities, private colleges, and those who have military experience.

Financial Aid

Pomona College is among a select group of colleges that practice need-blind admissions for domestic students and meets the full demonstrated financial need of every admitted student who enrolls.

For admission purposes, Pomona College considers domestic students as: U.S. citizens, permanent residents, eligible non-citizens (such as refugees), and undocumented students who graduate from a high school in the United States. Admission for international applicants is need-aware.

More than half of Pomona students receive financial aid. The need-based financial aid commitment is based on a thorough review of each applicant family's financial documents, with consideration for their unique circumstances. Pomona’s financial aid offer does not include loans to meet a student’s demonstrated financial need.
